Which background check dates count
- National check — dated after January 1 two years before the season. For 2026, after January 1, 2024.
- Provincial screening — verified between January 1 two years before the season and December 31 of the season. For 2026, January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026.
How the national check gets recorded
Through Sterling. While the requirement is Incomplete, the member selects How To Complete and buys an E-PIC through Sterling BackCheck from that window.
From proof sent to Archery Canada. If the member already has a check, they send proof to Archery Canada. An admin opens How To Complete on the member's requirement and selects Upload Manual Background Check.
What a completed requirement looks like
Archery NCCP Certification. A past date on either instructor attribute completes it.
Safe Sport or Respect in Sport Training. A Respect Groups date completes it, even with the CAC Safe Sport date blank.
National background check. Until a check is recorded, the requirement shows How To Complete, which opens the upload window.
Provincial background check. The Provincial Screening verification date completes it.
RSO exam. The exam's completion date completes it.
Judge Training. A member with coach and official memberships sees both requirement lists.
If a requirement still shows Incomplete after you save a date, check the date. A training date in the future, or a background check outside its window, doesn't count.
