How Canadian Fencing's High Performance Program (HPP) fits together on Uplifter, from the athlete attributes and HPP memberships to the programs, their events and registration categories, and how to set each part up.
- The HPP has four parts. The HPP membership, the programs, the events in each program and each event’s registration categories.
- Athletes need an HPP membership before they can register for HPP events. Each HPP membership category also needs a provincial, FIE or EFC membership.
- A program is a series. Each program is a series of events, so athletes can register for one event or several at once from the program’s page.
- Uplifter adds the eligibility rules. When you submit an event for review, Uplifter sets who can register for the event and for each category before it goes live.
- Screenshots may show an earlier version of the screens. The steps describe the current screens.
Set up and manage Canadian Fencing’s High Performance Program (HPP): give athletes their HPP attributes, then build each program’s events and registration categories and submit them for review.
-
Give athletes their HPP attribute
On the Admin Dashboard, select Users, search for the athlete and open their profile. Under the HPP athlete management attributes, select Edit on the right attribute (athlete or Next Gen), set it to Yes and save.
-
Have athletes buy their HPP membership
Once the attribute is set, the athlete registers for the matching HPP membership on Canadian Fencing’s High Performance Program page.
-
Create the program’s events
Create an Event Dashboard for each event in the program, such as a training camp. If some events are alike, Uplifter can clone them for you. See Create an Event Dashboard.
-
Add the events to the program
Attach each Event Dashboard to the program’s series. See Canadian Fencing: add events to an HPP program.
-
Create the registration categories
On each event, create the registration categories and their prices. See Manage registration categories on Event Dashboard.
-
Submit the event for review
On the event’s Event Dashboard, submit it for review. Uplifter sets the eligibility rules and finalizes the event with you before it goes live.
HPP membership categories
Athletes register for one of three HPP memberships:
- HPP general athlete: a provincial, FIE or EFC membership, plus the athlete attribute.
- HPP Next Gen athlete: a provincial, FIE or EFC membership, plus the Next Gen attribute.
- HPP Excellence: a provincial, FIE or EFC membership. The high performance attribute is given automatically when the athlete registers.
FIE is the International Fencing Federation; EFC is the European Fencing Confederation.
Programs
Each program, such as HP INS or HP Ontario, is a series of events. Its landing page lists the program’s events in a table. Athletes can open an event for its details, or select Register for event(s) to register for one or several of the program’s events at once.
Find your programs under Events → Series. From a program you see its events, open each event’s dashboard to change its content, prices, waivers or survey questions, and edit the program’s landing page.
Registration categories and eligibility
Each event has its own registration categories and prices. For example, a training camp in a program might offer:
- Next Gen Athletes: $0
- Excellence Athletes: $0
- HP Athletes: $350
After you submit the event for review, Uplifter adds the rules. At the event level, only athletes with an HPP membership can register (or a Canadian Fencing membership, for the online program). At the category level, only Next Gen athletes can register for the Next Gen category, and so on. FIE and EFC rules can also be added to an event or a category.
