IMPORTANT!
Interac Online is no longer being offered by Worldline (formerly Bambora) as of November 15th, 2023. As a result, Uplifter will no longer support Interac Online as a payment method beginning October 31st, 2023. This means that no refunds can be processed using this payment method after October 31st, 2023. If you are currently offering Interac Online, it is recommended that you follow the steps listed below to deactivate this payment method so it no longer appears public. To find out more about Uplifter’s other payment method options, please contact support.
Deactivation Steps
To Deactivate the Interac Online Payment method:
- Navigate to Settings > Uplifter Settings > Merchant Details.
- In the payment methods tab, select Interac Online.
- Uncheck Public Payment Method.
- Select Save All.
Bambora Is Now Worldline
You may notice some elements in our articles or software still say Bambora. These will be gradually changed but Bambora and Worldline are effectively synonymous terms for all intents and purposes..
Overview
To begin taking Interac Online payments through Uplifter a club must first have a Worldline account for credit card payment processing. For new organizations, we recommend that this process should be performed in tandem with your standard Uplifter setup and should conclude before opening your live registrations.
The Merchant Credentials tab is found by navigating to Settings > Uplifter Settings > Merchant Details. In order to access the Merchant Credentials tab you will need the following permissions: Admin, Manage System Settings, Manage Merchant Credentials.

Interac URLs
When creating your Interac Online account Worldline will request your 'Interac URLs'. These URLs are a list of URLs at which you will be performing your transactions and displaying your approved/declined messages.
The URLs that you will use will depend very highly on their FINAL URL for your club. For instance, if you presently have club.uplifterinc.com and will eventually be updating your DNS to clubsite.com then they need to include the clubsite.com during this setup.
You can have up to 3 URLs per type.

Configuring & Testing Your Worldline Account
I Already Have an Active Worldline Account
Configuring Your Worldline Account
To begin configuring your Worldline account within Uplifter please navigate to Settings > Uplifter Settings > Merchant Details. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Payment Methods section. Ensure the [Payment Methods] tab is selected and select the Interac Online option, currently in yellow.
To connect your Worldline account to your Uplifter account you will want to fill out the fields within the form.
Standard Fields
Public? Set whether or not this payment option is public. As you are first connecting your Worldline account, we suggest unchecking this option. This is especially true if you are connecting your Worldline account with an active registration season.
Reporting Name: How payment methods appear in reports details and the bottom of invoices
Checkout Text: Button text displayed in the checkout for this payment method
Payment Type: Determines the behaviour of this payment method, including payment statuses and when it can be available.
Advance Notification Days? Number of days in advance to send a payment reminder notification to members. No notifications will be sent if set to 0. Customize your notification message under Settings > Global Settings > [Notifications] Tab.
Display Icons: Select to display the Interac icon at checkout. You can also have this icon appear in the footer by enabling them under Settings > Global Settings > Look and Feel > Navigation / Links.
Note: In order to offer Interac Online it is mandatory that you display the Interac icon.
Merchant ID
- Log into your Worldline account
- Copy your Merchant ID (top right)
- Paste the value into your Merchant ID field
Profile API Access Passcode
- Navigate to Configuration > Payment Profile Configuration
- Copy the value from the API Access Passcode field
- Paste the value into your Profile API Access Passcode
Advanced Notification Days
- Set your preferred number of days in the Advanced Notification Days field
- Select Save All to keep the changes
- Navigate to Settings > Global Settings > [Notifications] tab
- Update the Upcoming Payment Installment field with your desired message
- Select Save All
When using Interac Online it will be important to use the Advanced Notification Days setting to your advantage. This field lets you set the number of days before a payment, at which the system will email a user to notify them of the upcoming payment.
This is especially important because Interac Online will not process in the same way as credit card. Each payment must be processed and authorized by the end user.
Once you've completed filling in the form be sure to select Save All at the bottom of your Uplifter page! Learn more about payment methods and payment method groups in our article Payment Methods.

Testing Your Interac Account
Testing Notes
- If your Worldline account is already active and in use, you won't be able to test your Interac Online payment option with fake cards. Only real cards and real transactions will be possible.
- Interac Online only has a per-transaction cost, so you do not have to adjust the cost of your items when testing.
- To test before offering Interac Online to the public, be sure to follow the Testing Setup and Testing steps below.
Testing Setup
This setup is recommended for clubs who already have live registrations being performed. For those still in test mode you can simply move to the Testing section, below.
For best results when testing, and to ensure that users cannot access the Interac option until you are done testing, please follow the steps below (see Payment Methods for more information).
- Navigate to Settings > Uplifter Settings > [Merchant Details]
- Select the [Payment Method Groups] tab, then Add Payment Method Group
- Name the group Interac Only, and check off Interact Online under Payment Methods
- Review the other Payment Method Groups to ensure that Interact Online is unchecked
- Select Save All
Next, you will want to create a test item in Beta status. To do so, please follow the steps below (see Products, Tickets & Subscriptions for more information).
- Navigate to Products & Programs > Products & Subscriptions
- Select Add New and create a $1, Beta-status, product that uses the Interac Only payment group
You're now ready to begin testing!
Testing
Testing can be completed only from the public side. This is because Interac Online does not allow for admins to enter information on behalf of a user (as you can with credit card). As such, navigate to the public side of your site (top right, if you are on the admin side currently). From here, add the Beta product you created to your cart. Note that, if your site is live and you have taken the steps from the Testing Setup section, you will want to be sure to only select the test item you have created to add to cart.
Once the item is added to cart, proceed with the checkout process. Select Interac Online as your payment method and process a real card to test. You can always refund this value to the card after testing.
I Am Setting Up a New Worldline Account

Testing Your Interac Account
Testing Notes
- With your Worldline account in testing mode, you can use fake cards to test your Interact Online portal. These fake cards are not validated in any way, meaning you can enter any value you wish from 1 to 9,999,999,999,999 and have the card go through for your testing purposes.
- There is no per-transaction cost while testing, but be sure you are in testing mode with your Worldline account before proceeding.
- To test before offering Interac Online to the public, be sure to follow the Testing Setup and Testing steps below.
Testing Setup
This setup is recommended for clubs who already have live registrations being performed. For those still in test mode you can simply move to the Testing section, below.
For best results when testing, and to ensure that users cannot access the Interac option until you are done testing, please follow the steps below (see Payment Methods for more information).
- Navigate to Settings > Uplifter Settings > [Merchant Details]
- Select the [Payment Method Groups] tab
- Review the Payment Method Groups and ensure that Interact Online is checked in at least one option - likely the All Payment group.
- Select Save All
Next, you will want to create a few test items in Beta status. To do so, please follow the steps below (see Products, Tickets & Subscriptions for more information).
- Navigate to Products & Programs > Products & Subscriptions
- Select Add New and create at least one Beta-status product
You're now ready to begin testing!
Testing
Testing can be completed only from the public side. This is because Interac Online does not allow for admins to enter information on behalf of a user (as you can with credit card). As such, navigate to the public side of your site (top right, if you are on the admin side currently). From here, add an item or two to your cart.
Once the item(s) are added to cart, proceed with the checkout process. Select Interac Online as your payment method and process a card to test. Note that you can enter any value during this test, the entry is not validated, so you can add complete gibberish into the fields.
Setting Your Account to Live
Once you are confident in your account setup and are ready to go live with your account you can reach out to Worldline support to set your account to live. Live status means the testing pages will no longer be available. With your account set to live you will also want to purge your testing invoice. See Going Live for more information on purging and going live.
Updating Worldline to "Go Live"
“Go LIVE". Our test site can be found at [insert your club's test website address here]. Once our account has been promoted to live, we will make any necessary server or DNS changes to enable our website.”
Once your account is set to live by Worldline you will receive an email notifying you of as much.
The Payment Experience
Paying via Interac Online can often be a new experience for users. While similar, it is not entirely the same as paying via credit card. This is primary because, rather than adding their credentials directly through the site, the user is instead redirected to a special Interac Online page.
The Process
- The user navigates to their cart and runs through the 3 steps within Uplifter
- The user selects to pay by Interac Online.
- The site is redirected to the IOP (Interac Online Payment) page - at this point none of the pages or features are designed or controlled by Uplifter
- The user selects their bank
- The user enters their card details and opts to pay
- The bank returns a completed status and the system redirects the user to the completed invoice page
Possible Hiccups
- If the user officially cancels the transaction from the bank's official cancel options they will be redirected back to the shopping cart and can try again as though they had not tried the first time
- If the user cancels or is otherwise redirected away from the banking page they will return to the Uplifter shopping cart with the "Cancel Pending Payment" and "Resume Pending Payment" buttons.
- If the user cancels or is otherwise redirected away from the banking page and then also somehow navigates away from the shopping cart they will experience the error "This order cannot be edited while a payment is processing".
