Load a list of members from your organization’s import template, then pay for their memberships in one payment group.
- Import has to be set up for your club first. Until it is, Import Memberships doesn’t appear.
- Only the template from the import window imports. Your own spreadsheet won’t.
- Imports don’t check for existing profiles, so a name, email or date of birth that differs from someone’s profile can create a second one.
- Every import ends in a payment group to settle, even when the fees are $0.
Load a whole list of members at once from your organization’s import template. Associations import from the membership organization under Memberships, and clubs from their club under Clubs.
Getting access
- Your association allows it. Each governing association decides whether its clubs can import members.
- You agree to the setup. Bulk import is a configuration add-on with a setup fee, paid to Uplifter or to your association depending on how your association works.
- Uplifter turns it on. Once the setup is agreed, Uplifter activates import for your club.
-
Open the import window
Select Import Memberships on the membership organization or on your club.
-
Download the template
Choose the organization, and the club affiliation if asked, then select Import template. The template is built for your organization, so download a new one for each import.
-
Fill it in
Complete every column with a bold header, pick from the drop-downs, enter dates in the format shown in the header, and save the file as .xlsx. The column rules are in Fill in the membership import template and fix errors.
-
Upload the file
In Import Memberships, choose Select file and check the file name. Tick Send Confirmation Emails, accept the disclaimer and select Upload File.
-
Read the results email
When the import finishes, you get an email listing the rows created and any Rows with error (not created). Fix those rows and import only them again, so the members already created aren’t added twice.
-
Pay the payment group
Open the import’s payment group under Payment Groups, check the billing contact and address, and pay by card, or choose offline payment if that’s what you agreed. See Submit or validate a payment from a payment group.
Members with waivers to sign get an email asking them to sign. Once they have, they receive their confirmation email, with their membership card if your organization issues one.
Importing club registrations too
If you import club program registrations as well as memberships, the registration category must be open before you start. If Uplifter created a category just for the import, close it when the import is done.
