Connect your Skate Canada club to Skate Canada's member database on Club 1.0: check your club's Skate Canada number, choose the data you send, sync your categories and add a Skate Canada fee, then match and submit skaters.
- Club 1.0 is connected to Skate Canada’s member database. When a skater registers, Uplifter checks whether they already have a Skate Canada membership and adds your Skate Canada fee only when they need one.
- Submitting is a manual step. You choose which skaters to submit to Skate Canada, and when.
- Skate Canada invoices your club for memberships, as it always has. Uplifter doesn’t.
- Set up three things: the data you send, your categories and at least one Skate Canada fee each season. Your club’s Skate Canada number must be verified first.
To set up the Skate Canada membership integration on Club 1.0, check your club’s Skate Canada number, choose the data you send, sync your categories with Skate Canada’s, and create a Skate Canada fee for the season.
-
Check your club’s Skate Canada number
Select Settings → Uplifter Settings → Site Options and find the Site Affiliations section. If your club’s name is listed, your number is verified. If it isn’t, contact Uplifter Support with your club’s Skate Canada number. Verification turns on the Skate Canada features and adds a Skate Canada number field for your participants.
-
Choose the data you send
In the same Site Affiliations section, check the information your club sends to Skate Canada, then select Save All. Skate Canada needs at least first name, last name, birthdate and postal code. Explain this sharing in a policy or FAQ page.
-
Sync your categories
Select Settings → Categories and edit each category. In Skate Canada Category Name, choose the closest Skate Canada category, such as CanSkate for CanSkate. If nothing fits, choose N/A. This choice fills in the activity tags when you submit skaters.
-
Create your Skate Canada fee
Create at least one new Skate Canada fee for the season. See Skate Canada: create your Skate Canada fee for the season on Club 1.0.
-
Match and submit skaters
Skaters who pay the fee are listed on People → Skate Canada Memberships, ready to submit. See Skate Canada: match and submit skaters on Club 1.0.
How Uplifter matches skaters
Uplifter looks for the skater in Skate Canada’s database using first name, last name, gender, birthdate, postal code and Skate Canada number. Postal code and Skate Canada number count as one, so five items in all.
- Full match, membership needed: 4 or 5 items match. Uplifter pairs the profiles and adds your Skate Canada fee to the skater’s next invoice.
- Full match, no membership needed: 4 or 5 items match and the skater already has this season’s membership. No fee is added and there’s nothing to submit.
- Partial match: 3 items or fewer match. Uplifter adds the fee to be safe, and an admin chooses the right profile before submitting. You can remove the fee afterwards if it wasn’t needed.
- No match: nothing matches, which is rare. Uplifter adds the fee, and the only choice is to create a new Skate Canada member.
Good to know
- New skaters get their Skate Canada number automatically after you submit them. Allow about 24 hours before the number shows in reports.
- Skate Canada only updates membership status from Uplifter. It doesn’t accept address or other member details. To change those, your club or the member signs in to Skate Canada’s member site.
- Board members, officials and program assistants who don’t register for a program can still be submitted: add them to a $0 invoice and give them the right activity tag when you submit.
