Set up a Skate Canada section or club competition on Club 1.0: confirm your categories and merchant, create the competition's season, a program and a PPC program for each event, then per-skater fees, fields and policies.
- A competition is a season on Club 1.0. Each event in it is a program, with a matching planned program content (PPC) program where skaters enter their elements.
- Clubs need competition features turned on first. Skate Canada section offices have them already. Clubs, contact Uplifter Support.
- Some items carry over from one competition to the next: categories, the merchant and custom fields. The season, programs, per-skater fees and policies are new each time.
- Event SKUs must follow one format: EventCode:CatEventType:Discipline:Category:AgeCategory. Without it, the CSS report and the music download don’t sort correctly.
- Copying a season doesn’t copy its products or subscriptions. Copy or create those separately.
To set up a competition on Club 1.0, confirm your categories and merchant, then create the competition’s season, one program and one PPC program for each event, and the fees, fields and policies skaters see when they register.
-
Confirm your categories
Select Settings → Categories. Each discipline is a category (Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles, Pair, Ice Dance, Synchro), and each tier is a category level. Put the discipline in each level’s name, such as "Senior Women" rather than "Senior". You also need PPC categories; see Skate Canada: set up PPC and music fields on Club 1.0.
-
Confirm your merchant
Select Settings → Uplifter Settings → Merchant Details and check the merchant in the top drop-down. Most section offices use one merchant. If the host club’s merchant is used instead, add it as shown below.
-
Create the season
Select Products & Programs → Seasons and create a season for this year’s competition. Set Season Start and Season End to the competition dates, and Age Cutoff Date to the date age rules are met (July 1 in many sections, September 1 in others). To reuse last year’s setup, use the season copy feature.
-
Create a program for each event
Select Products & Programs → Programs and add one program per event, using the event program settings below.
-
Create a PPC program for each event
Add one more program per event, at $0, for the skater’s planned program content. Use the PPC program settings below. To make the PPC mandatory, add a requirement on each event program.
-
Add per-skater fees, fields and policies
For synchro or any other per-skater cost, add a mandatory subscription (see below). Add the custom fields your competition needs, and add its policies in Settings → Policies, using Link To to tag the season, categories or category levels.
-
Check and go live
Check that every event and PPC program has the right Registration Start and Cutoff Date and is set to Public, and that every subscription is set to Public.
Event program settings
- SKU: EventCode:CatEventType:Discipline:Category:AgeCategory.
- Category and Category Level: the event’s discipline and level.
- Season: the competition. This drop-down shows only in Advanced Settings mode, a toggle at the top of the form.
- First/Last Event Date: the competition’s start and end. Day/Time Description: "To be determined" until the schedule is set. Leave the Events List empty.
- Fee: a Flat Fee with the event’s price. For synchro, the price of the event itself; per-skater costs come later as a subscription.
- Merchant: the competition’s merchant. Leave Age Cutoff Date blank; the season’s date applies.
- Min/Max Participants Per Registration: 2/2 for pairs and dance, a wider range such as 8/24 for synchro, 1/1 for singles.
PPC program settings
- SKU: anything, but a numbered pattern helps you tell the PPC programs apart.
- Season, First/Last Event Date, Day/Time Description, Merchant: the same as the event.
- Fee: $0. Min/Max Participants Per Registration: 1/1, because the event holds the pair or team settings.
Per-skater fee settings
Select Products & Programs → Products & Subscriptions and add a subscription, or copy last competition’s and change it.
- Applies To: Participant, so the fee applies once per skater. Whole-team costs belong in the event’s price.
- Select This product is a subscription, set Duration Of Subscription to None and select Make This Subscription Mandatory.
- Tag Filters: tag the season and the synchro (or other) category.
- Fee: a Flat Fee with the per-skater cost.
