Canada Snowboard coach, judge and official memberships need their requirements completed before they're issued. See which requirements complete automatically, and complete a background check, Safe Sport or Making Headway in Sport requirement manually as an association admin.
- Coach, judge and official memberships aren’t issued until their requirements are complete. Until then, the membership waits as Pending Requirements.
- Most requirements complete on their own. Background check results come back from Sterling. Safe Sport and Making Headway in Sport are read from the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) Locker.
- A background check counts for 3 years from the date it was completed.
- Complete a requirement manually only when the member has proof from elsewhere, such as a background check done outside Uplifter or another approved training.
- Screenshots may show an earlier version of the screens. The steps describe the current screens.
As a provincial or territorial sport organization (PTSO) admin, manage Canada Snowboard membership requirements: check what’s missing on a membership and complete a requirement manually when the member has proof from elsewhere.
-
Open the membership
On the Admin Dashboard, select Memberships → Individual Memberships, search for the member and open their Membership Details.
-
Check the requirements
Under Membership Requirements, see which requirements are complete and which are still missing.
-
Complete the missing requirement
Follow the steps for that requirement below. When every requirement is complete, the membership is no longer held for requirements.
Which memberships need what
- Criminal background check: coaches, officials and judges.
- CAC Safe Sport training: coaches.
- Making Headway in Sport training: coaches.
- Injury and concussion tracking: Elleboard/GROM Event, Recreational, Compete, Compete + FIS Licence, Coach, Officials, Judges and Volunteer memberships.
Background check
The background check is automated through Sterling. Its fee is added to the registrant’s cart automatically. Once they pay, they get an email that explains how to complete the check. Sterling sends the result back to Uplifter Snow, and the requirement is completed or not depending on the result. A member who already has a background check can upload it while they buy their membership; you can see that upload on their Membership Details.
To complete the requirement manually:
-
Open the requirement
On the member’s Membership Details, under Membership Requirements, select How to Complete on the background check.
-
Upload the proof
Select Upload Manual Background Check. Add the proof that the check is complete and the date it was verified, then save. The requirement completes if the check is no older than 3 years.
Safe Sport and Making Headway in Sport
Both trainings are read from the CAC Locker. As soon as the coach completes a training there, its requirement is complete. If a coach has completed another approved training instead, complete the requirement manually:
-
Find the attribute
On the member’s Membership Details, under Attributes & Records, select Edit on Safe Sport (for Snowboard) - Last completion date or on CAC Making Headway in Sport Training (For Snowboard) - Last completion date.
-
Enter the date
Enter the date the coach last completed the training and select Next. When the date is correct, the requirement switches to complete.
Injury and concussion tracking
This requirement is complete while the member has no current injury or concussion on file. An accident report makes it incomplete, and a medical clearance completes it again. See Canada Snowboard: manage injury and concussion tracking.
