Where each store type appears, how the Single, Required and Mandatory rules combine, and how purchase limits work.
- Purchase rules work only on In Process stores.
- Required Purchase and Mandatory Product can't be combined, with or without Single Purchase.
- If a registrant removes a mandatory item from the cart, their entire registration is deleted.
The store type decides where buyers meet the store, and purchase rules decide what they must buy. You set both on the store, under Configuration → Stores on the dashboard that hosts it.
Where each store type appears
- Standalone — its own storefront at a shareable link, separate from registration. Purchasers log in to buy.
- In Process — inside the registration flow, before checkout. Suits kit, insurance and other add-ons tied to registering.
- Post Process — a Post-Process store button on the registration landing page, shown when someone who has already registered comes back to it.
What each purchase rule does
- Single Purchase — the registrant can buy only one item from the store, so they choose between items.
- Required Purchase — the registrant must pick at least one product from a dropdown before registration can finish. Nothing is added for them.
- Mandatory Product (forced purchase) — the item is added to the cart automatically and the store isn't shown. The registrant sees the charge in their cart.
Which rules combine
Each rule works on its own. Single Purchase can also be paired with either of the other two.

How purchase limits work
Limits sit on each purchase option, not on the store. Per Registration Limit is on the option itself; the other two are under its Advanced Configuration.
- Per Registration Limit — the most one registration can buy.
- Per membership limitation — the most one person can buy, however many registrations they make.
- Per user limitation — the most one user account can buy, across everyone on it.
A mandatory item can't be removed on its own: if a registrant opens Edit Cart and uses the trash can on it, the whole registration goes with it. Add a line to your registration instructions so nobody removes a compulsory fee by mistake. For a levy charged once per person, however many categories they enter, set both Per Registration Limit and Per membership limitation to 1; your Uplifter contact can set it up for you.
