What the association, the club and Uplifter each own with FederationConnector, and what changes each season.
- Configuration changes are not self-service. They go through your Uplifter account manager.
- Clubs configure nothing about an association’s memberships. They only choose which ones each program requires.
- Almost every blocked registration in a season is a membership that wasn’t renewed yet on the day someone tried to register.
FederationConnector splits the work between the association’s Enterprise Portal, the club’s Uplifter Club 1.0 site and Uplifter, so every blocked registration has an owner.
Who owns what
- The association — which memberships exist, what they’re called and cost, and their valid dates. Issuing, suspending, cancelling and refunding, and answering members about a membership’s status.
- The club — which of the association’s memberships each program requires, from the agreed list. Answering members about the program and forwarding membership questions to the association.
- Uplifter — the connection between the two platforms, the wording of the messages members see, configuration changes, and any message saying the check failed.
- The member — renewing a lapsed membership, and correcting their own club profile.
What changes each season
- Your account manager confirms with the association, in writing, which memberships and bundles the new season requires before anything changes.
- Uplifter updates the configuration behind the club’s checkboxes.
- Clubs re-select nothing. Programs keep the same options, and members see the same membership names.
What counts as a configuration change
Adding a membership to the list, grouping several memberships under one checkbox or splitting them out, renaming an option, changing which statuses pass, and changing where a blocked member is sent. Raise these through your account manager rather than asking a club to work around them on a program.
The most effective prevention is simple: associations ask their clubs when registration opens, and both remind members to renew before that date. A message asking a member to contact a system administrator goes to support@uplifterinc.com; there’s no system administrator for a member or club to contact.
