For association admins in the Enterprise Portal: what each membership status means for a blocked club registration, and what to tell the member.
- The dates decide, not the label. An Issued membership past its valid-to date is expired.
- A member who has just paid sees a message much like an expiry, and their instinct is to buy again.
- Refunded and suspended states are yours to explain. The club can’t see them and Uplifter can’t change them.
For association admins in the Enterprise Portal. When an affiliated club forwards a registration that FederationConnector blocked, read these against the participant’s profile in your Membership Organization.
What the record shows
- Valid dates have passed — the membership has lapsed, whether the status still reads Issued or has flipped to Expired. Tell them to renew on your membership page, wait until it’s issued, then register at the club again.
- Processing — paid and everything signed, waiting for your approval. It passes only if your check accepts Processing; otherwise tell them it’s with you and roughly how long approval takes.
- Pending Requirements — paid, but something is outstanding, such as an unsigned waiver. It never passes. Tell them what’s outstanding.
- Valid dates are empty — not yet active. Treat it like Processing.
- Cancelled — there’s no usable membership, so they need a new one. Talk to them first if the cancellation wasn’t theirs.
- Refunded or suspended — a membership exists but the check won’t accept it. Explain the state and what resolves it.
- No matching profile — nothing matched the first name, last name and date of birth entered at the club. If your record is wrong, correct it; if theirs is, they fix their club profile. With no membership at all, they buy one.
Why a member isn’t found
All three details must match exactly. When a member holds a membership but isn’t found, it’s almost always a nickname against a legal name, a missing or extra hyphen or space in a surname, a two-part surname in a different order, or a month and day swapped. Most often by far, it’s the parent’s own details entered instead of the child’s.
For Processing, Pending Requirements and empty dates, tell the member not to buy again. They’d be charged twice and need a refund, and one sentence from you prevents both.
