Who looks after what on Uplifter: what Uplifter sets up for you, and what associations and clubs can do on their own.
Must know
- Uplifter activates merchant accounts and helps associations configure memberships, sanctioning, affiliations, certifications and custom reports.
- Associations set membership registration rules. Clubs set them only when their association's policy allows it. On a club’s or organizer’s dashboard, a process-specific admin role is enough for an association to set rules and add its own waivers.
- Associations and clubs can set up Event and Club Dashboards themselves.
- Once they've had an onboarding call with Uplifter, owners, financial controllers and administrators can issue refunds, and owners and administrators can merge profiles. A process-specific admin can do neither.
Running memberships, sanctioning and affiliations is a team effort. Here's who looks after what, so you always know where to start and who to ask.
How Uplifter helps
- Activates your merchant account. We make sure your merchant account is up and running so you can take payments.
- Supports associations. Our Partner Support team works directly with associations.
- Configures your setup. We help associations configure memberships, sanctioning, affiliations, certifications and custom reports.
- Pairs applications with dashboards. We link sanctioning applications to Event Dashboards and affiliation applications to Club Dashboards.
What associations and clubs do
- Set membership registration rules. Associations set the rules on Event and Club Dashboards. Where the association's policy allows it, clubs set them too. To set rules or add its own waivers on a dashboard it doesn’t own, the association needs a process-specific admin role on that dashboard, held by staff who are owners or administrators on the association’s own account. The association’s waivers stay the association’s: the club can’t edit or detach them.
- Set up dashboards. Associations and clubs can set up Event and Club Dashboards on their own, whenever they're ready.
- Run day-to-day admin. After an onboarding call with Uplifter, admins can merge member profiles, issue refunds and take any other action their permissions on your Financial Organization allow. Refunds need the owner, financial controller or administrator role; a process-specific admin can’t issue them. See Understand admin roles and permissions.
Apply for affiliation or sanctioning
When your association has Club Affiliation or Event Sanctioning turned on, club and event admins can apply in either of two ways:
- From your dashboard (recommended). Apply from your Club Dashboard or Event Dashboard, and the application is paired with that dashboard automatically.
- Directly. Apply without starting from a dashboard, and Uplifter helps pair the application with your dashboard.
