Course completions from Canvas and the CAC Locker that complete required attributes on a membership.
- Canvas passes back quizzes and assignments only, not modules or pages.
- Locker records match on the NCCP number held in an attribute on the member's profile, so that number has to be correct.
- The Locker connection is one-way: records come down from the Locker and can't be reported back up to it.
- Each connection fills in a completion: it completes a required attribute or a module's completion date, and doesn't create a membership.
- Available when Certification Tracking is active on your organization's account as an add-on to Membership Manager — ask your Uplifter account manager to add it.
Course completions from Canvas and the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) Locker, brought into the Enterprise Portal to complete required attributes. Uplifter sets up each connection, and your organization keeps its own Canvas account.
How Canvas works
Uplifter creates the member's Canvas account as part of the connection. A member signed in to their Uplifter profile follows the requirement's instructions and arrives in Canvas already signed in. When they pass a linked quiz or assignment, the required attribute completes, dated to their submission. The passing mark is set per quiz, one quiz can complete several attributes, and a result can also grant course credit.
How the CAC Locker works
The connection uses coach.ca's one-way API lookup. When a coach education event is entered and approved in the Locker, those records come down to the Enterprise Portal and fill in the completion date for that module, matched to the coach by their NCCP number. Each Canadian sport can have at most one Locker API token, if it has been awarded one, and its national sport organization (NSO) decides whether Uplifter can use it for the national and provincial associations in that sport. Sport-specific modules that don't come through the Locker connection are exported from the CAC and imported by file.
Anything that doesn't arrive through a connection can still be recorded by hand, in bulk from a CSV file or one person at a time from their profile. If two profiles are merged, ask Uplifter to check the member's Canvas link, because completions keep following the original profile until it's repaired.
