Combine two records of the same person with Profile Merge Tool, and check course-based requirements first.
- Merging is available once Uplifter turns it on for your admin account. If you don't see Profile Merge Tool, ask your Uplifter contact.
- A merge can't be undone. Two people with the same name is more common than it sounds.
- Online course completions don't follow a merge. Contact support before merging anyone with course-based requirements, such as a coach credential.
- A merge can take a few minutes to finish.
Combine two records of the same person into one profile, whether they sit on the same login or on two. You start from either record under Users → Profiles.
-
Confirm it's the same person
Search by name, since duplicates usually have different emails. Compare first name, last name, email, gender, date of birth and registration history. Opening each record in its own tab makes this easier.
-
Open Profile Merge Tool
Open one of the two profiles and select Profile Merge Tool at the top right. Search for the other profile by name or email, select it and select Next.
-
Choose what to keep
Conflicting details are highlighted. Pick the values to keep, including the email address the person will sign in with.
- If the two logins hold other profiles too, you're asked to choose. Keep users separate merges only this profile and leaves both logins. Combine users moves every profile to one login and removes the other, and you may be asked to pick a new primary profile.
-
Merge and confirm
Select Merge Identity, then confirm. The button shows "Merge in process" until it's done. Refresh the page after a few minutes to see the result.
If you've already merged someone with course-based requirements, submit a request with both email addresses and the merge date so support can reconnect their completions. To link a person to a second login, or to consolidate or update family accounts, contact support@uplifterinc.com.
