An admin invitation gives access based on one unique email address, and that address is your Uplifter user account. Check it's the right address for admin work, ideally a club, event or association work address rather than the personal one that holds your memberships, then sign in with it. An account with admin access opens on the Admin Dashboard.
Applies to Enterprise
- Admin access is tied to one unique email address. That address is your Uplifter user account. You’re invited as an admin for your club, event or association on the exact address the person who added you entered. Sign in with that address.
- Use a work address for admin duties. We recommend a club, event or association email address for admin access, and your personal address for your own memberships and registrations. When someone else takes over your role, the work address goes with the role, and your memberships stay with you.
- Invited on your personal address? Before you accept, ask the person who added you whether a work address would suit better. If they switch it, create a new login with the work address and use it only for admin duties.
- You don’t need the email to sign in. If the invitation never arrived or its link fails, go to your sport’s Uplifter platform and sign in with the address you were added with.
- Your organization gives admin access, not Uplifter Support. The owner of the financial account adds financial controllers and administrators. Process-specific access to one event or club is added on that dashboard.
Accept an admin invitation by checking that it’s on the right email address for admin work, then signing in to your sport’s Uplifter platform with that address and checking that you land on the Admin Dashboard.
-
Check the email address
The invitation is for the address the person who added you entered. Is it the address you want to use for admin work? If it’s your personal address and you’d rather keep admin work separate, ask them to add your club, event or association work address instead. No email? Ask them which address they entered.
-
Open the sign-in page
Use the link in the email, or go to the sign-in page of your sport’s Uplifter platform. Each sport has its own platform, so use the one your organization works on.
-
Sign in, or set up your login
Already have an Uplifter account with that address? Sign in with it. Added to an event or club dashboard with an address that had no login? An account is created for you on that address: select Reset password on the sign-in page to set your password. Need a login for a new work address before an owner can add you? Select Create Account and use exactly that address.
-
Accept the terms
The first time you sign in, scroll through the privacy policy and user agreement and accept them.
-
Check where you land
An account with admin access opens on the Admin Dashboard. If you land on your member page (My Pages) instead, the account you signed in with has no admin access yet. See If something goes wrong below.
-
Find your area
Your menu shows only what your role and your organization’s products allow. Association admins can use the Admin Dashboard’s Home page to filter and review the data for their financial organizations. Other admins see the left-menu items that are active on their admin account. A process-specific admin sees the one event or club they were added to: once you’re signed in, the Access Dashboard link in the invitation email opens it.
The invitation email
When you’re added to an event or club dashboard, an email comes from your sport’s Uplifter platform, such as Uplifter Cycling. Its subject reads "You have been added as a administrator to … registration process on …", with the name of the registration process and the platform. It says who gave you access and to which registration process, and asks you to log in. Once you’ve signed in, its Access Dashboard link opens that dashboard.
Why we recommend a work address
- Roles change hands. Volunteers and staff change between seasons. A shared address, such as one for your registrar or membership desk, passes to the next person with its admin access, so nobody has to set up permissions again.
- Your memberships stay yours. Your memberships, registrations and family profiles stay on your personal login, and you keep them when you leave the role.
- Hand over cleanly. When you leave the role, pass the work address to the next person, or ask the owner to remove your access and add theirs.
Who invites you, and to which role
- Owner: each financial organization has exactly one owner, who adds and removes financial controllers, administrators and process-specific admins. An account group can have more than one owner.
- Financial controllers and administrators are added by the owner, under Financials → Accounting → the account’s Permissions tab. A financial controller works on financials and refunds; an administrator works on registrations, agreements and waivers, and can also issue refunds. You need an Uplifter login before the owner can add you.
- Process-specific admins get one event or club dashboard, added from that dashboard’s Configuration → Permissions. They manage registrations, registration rules and reports, but see no financials, can’t issue refunds and can’t add or change the organization’s agreements and waivers. If the address has no login, an account is created for it. A notification email goes out unless the person adding you turns it off.
- Roles on an account group apply to every organization in the group.
If something goes wrong
- The email never arrived. Check your spam or junk folder. The person who added you may also have chosen not to send it. Sign in from the platform’s sign-in page anyway.
- The link doesn’t work. Open your sport’s Uplifter sign-in page directly and sign in, or select Reset password.
- You land on My Pages. Ask the person who added you to check the email address on their permissions list. A typo, or another address of yours, puts your access on a different login.
- You were added on the wrong address. Ask the person who added you to remove that address and add the right one.
- The reset email never arrives. Check your spam folder and any other address you may use, then contact Uplifter Support.
- Nobody in your organization can add you, for example because the owner has left. The current owner and the new owner both need to contact Uplifter Support.
If you use one login for both
If your admin access is on the address that also holds your memberships, both stay on one login. Admin Dashboard appears in the left menu of My Pages, and Home in the Admin Dashboard’s left menu brings you back to your admin home page. It works, but the admin role can’t be handed to someone else without your memberships going with it.
Not an admin invitation?
An invitation to the Uplifter Mobile App comes from your club or association and links to the app; see Get started with the Uplifter Mobile App. A background check email comes from Sterling; see Complete your background check consent on Sterling.
