The four admin roles — owner, financial controller, administrator and process-specific admin — and what each one can see and do.
- Each financial account has one owner, and only the owner changes who has access to it.
- The same person can be both a financial controller and an administrator. A financial controller alone sees financials only: no events, clubs or registrations.
- A process-specific admin works on one event or club dashboard only and sees no financial information.
- A process-specific admin can add registration rules, such as a membership requirement. They work on agreements and waivers only when the waiver belongs to another organization they manage, such as their association, never on your organization’s own.
- Each agreement and waiver belongs to the organization that created it. Only someone who manages that organization, or Uplifter, can edit, detach or delete it.
- Only Uplifter staff can change the Paysafe account, or which financial organization an event, club or membership dashboard belongs to.
Four roles decide what each person can see and do in your organization. Three are set on the financial account and cover every event and club on it; the fourth is set on a single event or club dashboard.
How accounts and groups work
A financial account is tied to your organization’s payouts and financial activity, and has one owner. A financial account group bundles several accounts for larger organizations. A group can have several owners, controllers and administrators, and each person listed at group level gets that same role on every account in the group. If your organization needs people added across many accounts, such as national staff overseeing each province, ask your Uplifter contact to set up group permissions. Group roles show under Group permissions on the account’s Permissions tab. Uplifter sets group permissions up at onboarding and attaches them to a shared work address, such as your association’s membership inbox, rather than a person’s own email, so access survives staff changes.
What each role is for
- Owner — full control, and the only role that edits account details and permissions.
- Financial controller — watches the money: financials, financial reports, payout notifications, merchant account applications and refunds. No registrations, and no event or club details.
- Administrator — runs the day-to-day: registrations, events, clubs, memberships, registration rules, waivers, landing pages, emails and refunds. No financials.
- Process-specific admin — one event or club dashboard: registrations, registration rules, landing pages, survey questions and reports. No other dashboards, no financials and no cloned copies of the dashboard. They see every agreement on the dashboard, and add, duplicate, edit and detach waivers only for another organization they manage, such as their association.
When the owner changes
When the owner of a financial or event organization changes, for example because the owner leaves your organization, the current owner and the new owner both need to contact Uplifter Support. If your organization is affiliated with a sanctioning body, include that organization in the request as well.
If a sanctioning body or association needs access
A waiver belongs to the organization that created it. If your sanctioning body or association needs to add its own waiver to your events, for example a waiver that must be signed for every event, add its staff as process-specific admins on each event or club dashboard. Each of them must also be an owner or administrator on the association’s own account. They don’t need an administrator role on your organization.
With that access they create, attach, duplicate, edit and detach the association’s waivers on your dashboard, without seeing your finances. They can’t change or remove your organization’s own waivers. Your admins see the association’s waiver but can’t edit or detach it: ask the association, or contact Uplifter Support.
The same role lets them set registration rules, such as requiring a current membership. That access covers one dashboard only, so add them again on each new or cloned dashboard.
To copy an event that already carries the waiver, select Clone event. In the clone window, choose Reuse to share the same waiver with the original event, or Duplicate to give the new event its own copy with a new waiver ID. Ignore, the default, leaves the waiver off the new event, so change it for any waiver your sanctioning body requires. A copy of the association’s waiver still belongs to the association. Which one to pick depends on your insurer’s or sanctioning body’s policy, so check with them first. See Clone an Event Dashboard.

If a colleague can’t see a menu you can, check their role before anything else: a controller has no registrations, an administrator has no Financials, and a process-specific admin sees every agreement but works only on waivers of another organization they manage.
Only an owner or administrator can submit a dashboard for review. A club dashboard always goes through Submit for review and Uplifter's approval. An organization that holds go-live permission, arranged by change order with your Uplifter account manager, can take its event dashboards live itself; that permission doesn't extend to clubs.
