Let members pay your club's registration fee in instalments. Uplifter sets the plan up for you; here's what to decide and send, and how instalments behave once they're live.
- Uplifter sets up instalments for you. It’s an add-on with a setup fee each season; contact Uplifter Support for pricing.
- Only your club’s own fee can be split. Association fees (PTSO and NSO) are paid in full at checkout.
- A registration category is either paid in full or paid in instalments. Members can’t choose inside one category, so offer two: for example, Recreational - Full and Recreational - 4 instalments.
- No 100% coupons on an instalment category. The first payment is what saves the member’s card.
- The price is checked on each payment day. If an early-bird price is still open when the second payment is due, that payment gets the early-bird price too.
To let members pay a registration fee over several months, decide how many payments each category takes and when they fall, then send those details to Uplifter Support. Uplifter sets up the plan, and each payment is charged to the member’s card automatically.
-
Plan your categories
For each program, decide which categories get instalments. Name them so members can tell them apart, for example U13 - Full and U13 - 4 instalments.
-
Choose a schedule
Pick how payments are timed: from each member’s purchase date, or on fixed dates for everyone. See Choose a payment schedule below.
-
Send the details to Uplifter Support
Submit a request listing, for each category: its name, the number of instalments, the schedule type and, for fixed dates, the payment dates.
-
Check the plan once it’s live
The first instalment is charged at checkout, and each later one is the same amount. Find every plan in Financials → Subscriptions; see Manage member subscriptions.
Choose a payment schedule
| Schedule | How it works |
|---|---|
| From the purchase date | Each member pays on their own dates. Someone who registers on September 20 with monthly payments pays again on October 20, then November 20. |
| On fixed dates | Everyone pays on the same dates, whenever they registered. Someone who registers after a payment date skips that payment completely, so close registration for the category before the second payment date. |
Early-bird prices with instalments
To give early registrants the early-bird price on every instalment, not just the first, set up two categories per program from the start:
- One at the early-bird price, open only during the early-bird period.
- One at the full price, open during the full-price period.
Ask Uplifter to set up instalments on both. If the early-bird price should apply to the first payment only, end the early-bird period before the second payment date.
What to expect once instalments are live
- Each instalment creates its own registration on your club dashboard. They’re marked as recurring, don’t count toward the category’s capacity and can be left out of reports.
- Club waivers are signed once, with the first registration.
- Members can always update their card. Whether they can cancel the remaining payments depends on how Uplifter sets up the plan, so say in your request if they shouldn’t be able to.
- Want an email when a card is declined? Ask Uplifter to set one up for your club when you send your request.
