The organization details, people, figures and bank proof a Paysafe merchant account application asks for, so you can submit it in one sitting.
Must know
- Paysafe verifies the applicant as an individual. You enter your own legal name, date of birth and home address, not your organization's.
- You need consent from every person you name before you enter their personal information.
- Your legal name must match your bank statements exactly, and so must the name on your bank proof.
- Canadian merchants also upload FINTRAC identity and business documents, listed in a separate article.

What to have about your organization
- Legal name, registration number and address — the legal name exactly as it appears on your bank statements.
- Business or tax ID — your 9-digit Business Number in Canada, or your EIN in the US.
- A financial account (eOrg) in Uplifter — create or select one, or ask your Onboarding Specialist to set it up.
- An email address someone checks — Paysafe sends every follow-up to the address you sign up with.
Who you'll name
- Directors — every director of the organization.
- Ultimate Beneficial Owners — anyone with 25% or more ownership.
- Control Prong — the person who controls or directs the organization.
- Primary contact — the person Paysafe emails about the application.
Each person you name needs their own legal name, date of birth, home address and SIN.
Which figures and bank proof to have
- Additional Business Information — your average transaction amount, annual processing amount, largest transaction amount and average refund days. Estimates are fine.
- Proof of your bank account — a void cheque or bank letter, one per settlement currency, in the name that matches your Doing Business As name.
With all of this ready, the application itself takes 20 to 30 minutes.
