Add, copy, edit or delete the registration categories people choose from, with their capacity, restrictions and price.
- A category’s capacity can’t exceed the event’s: when the event’s capacity is lower, the event’s wins.
- Age and gender restrictions hide the category from anyone outside them.
- The pricing name is internal. Only your admins and Uplifter staff see it.
Registration categories are what people choose from when they register. You add and edit them under Configuration → Registration Categories on the Event Dashboard.
-
Open the categories
Open Events → Events, select the gear icon or status button on the event’s row, then select Configuration → Registration Categories.
-
Add a category
Select Add New Category. If another category is set up the way you want, use Copy existing registration category to pre-fill the form, then change only what’s different.
-
Fill in the details
Complete the required fields, marked in red:
- Category Name — what people see when they choose.
- Category Capacity — the most people this category takes.
- Description — a short description or an important notice.
- Status — close the category when it’s no longer available.
- Is used for — individual registration, team registration or both.
- Restricted by age and Restricted by gender — who the category shows up for.
- Price and Pricing Name — the pricing name fills in from the category name and price.
-
Save and check the list
Save the category. It appears in the list, where View/Edit reopens it and the red trash icon deletes it.
To lower the price for people who register early, add a discount to the category; see Add an early bird discount to a registration category. For a discount on several registrations at once, see Set up a multi-registration discount.
