How a login and the people under it fit together, what a profile holds, and why editing a profile doesn’t change a membership.
- A user account is a login with one email address. A profile is a person, and one account can hold several.
- The primary profile owns the account. It gets the purchase receipts and can’t be moved to another account.
- A membership keeps the details entered at registration, so editing a profile doesn’t update it.
Every person in Uplifter is a profile that sits under a user account. Knowing which is which tells you where to fix a problem. You’ll find both under Users in the left menu.
How accounts and profiles fit together
A user account is how someone signs in: an email address and a password. No two accounts can share an email address. A profile holds one person’s name, date of birth, gender and contact email, plus everything they’ve signed up for. A parent registering three children has one account and four profiles.
The primary profile belongs to the account owner. Purchases on the account are recorded under that person, and the receipts go to their email. Registration confirmations go to the email on each profile, not to the sign-in email.
What a profile holds
Open a person from Users → Profiles, or from the search bar at the top, to reach Profile Identity Details. From there you reach:
- Personal details — name, date of birth, gender, nationality and contact email. Some of these decide which categories the person can register for.
- Memberships — every membership the person holds, each with its own Membership Details page.
- Registrations — the events and programs they’re registered in.
- Notes and cards — admin notes and membership cards.
- Course records and background checks — training history and check results, if your organization tracks them.
The account itself is under Users → User Accounts. It lists every profile on the login, with Add person to add a family member and Move profile to move someone to another login.
Why a profile change doesn’t reach a membership
A membership records the person’s details as they were at registration and isn’t linked to the profile afterwards. Correcting a name or email on the profile leaves existing memberships as they were. To fix one, open its Membership Details page, select Edit, correct the details and select Save.
Registrations work the same way, and the event or club organizer edits them. See Manage a participant's event registration.
If one person has two profiles, merge them rather than keeping both up to date. For a login problem you can’t fix here, such as an email address already used by another account, contact support@uplifterinc.com.
