The money side of your organization: merchant accounts, GL codes, coupons, payment plans, orders and refunds.
Applies to Enterprise
- Available on plans that include Financials — if you don't see it, ask your Uplifter contact.
- Online payments start only once your merchant account is approved by the payment processor. A financial controller can apply.
- Only Uplifter can change the merchant account or the financial account a dashboard is paid into.
- On membership processes, Uplifter sets who pays the processing fees.
- Changing a GL code doesn't recode income that's already posted. That's corrected in your own accounting software.

What's under Financials
- Accounting — each financial account's GL codes, admin fees and reports, plus the Permissions tab, where the account owner adds financial controllers and administrators.
- Coupons — discount codes by value or percentage, limited by number of uses, dates and what they apply to.
- Cart Payments — carts that were started but not paid. Complete one by recording a payment you received offline, such as cash or a cheque.
- Payment Groups — members register now and their club pays the provincial or national association later, by invoice. Uplifter sets each group up.
- Orders — every completed purchase, searchable by purchaser name, email, order ID or gateway ID.
- Subscriptions — monthly and instalment plans. Cancel one, update its billing details or change the next payment date.
- Refunds — the refunds already issued. To issue one, open the order instead.
How taxes and processing fees are set
Taxes and processing fees belong to the dashboard's financial organization. On a Club Dashboard or Event Dashboard, open Configuration → Financials. Under Taxes & Processing Fees, choose who is charged the taxes and who is charged the processing fees: User Pays (the purchaser sees it in the final cart) or Organizer Pays (it's hidden from the purchaser, deducted from your payout and shown on the order). Under Taxes on registration prices, set a rate for Domestic Order and one for International Order. The purchaser's address decides which applies, and both start at 0% - No Tax. The processing-fee rate comes from your contract with Uplifter. Admin fees are ones you create yourself, and reports show the two separately.
Where a merchant account comes from
Which processor you apply to, Paysafe or Stripe, depends on your platform and your contract. Start from the Create Event wizard or from the link your Onboarding Specialist sends you. How often payouts reach your bank is set with the processor, not in Uplifter.
Keeping month end clean
When two reports disagree on revenue, the usual cause is mixing processing fees with admin fees, or products sold before they had a GL code. Check that every product you sell has one, and keep the two fee types apart when you reconcile.
If a colleague can't see a financial account, its owner adds them on the Permissions tab under Financials → Accounting. Someone who needs one event or club only is better as a process-specific admin on that dashboard. The exception is agreements and waivers: anyone who adds them, such as an association adding its own waiver, needs to be an administrator.
