Register a member, buy a product or submit an application for someone from the page your members use, then pay online or record an offline payment.
Applies to Enterprise
- An admin transaction is how an admin registers, buys or applies on someone else’s behalf. It starts on the same public page your members use, while you’re signed in with your admin account.
- Uplifter activates admin transactions for your organization as part of your agreement. If you don’t see Process an admin transaction, it isn’t switched on for you yet: contact Uplifter Support.
- Pick the person’s existing profile. Create a new one only if they have none, and use their own email address, because waiver signing links are sent there.
- Survey questions, membership requirements and waivers run exactly as they do for a member. At each waiver you’re asked Are you followed by the person’s name. If they aren’t with you, answer No and enter their email address: the waiver is emailed to them to sign, and their membership stays in Pending Requirements until it’s signed.
As an admin, use an admin transaction to register a member, buy a product or submit an application for them, then pay online or record an offline payment. It’s the safest way to register someone for them, because every question, membership check and waiver in the process still applies.
-
Open the registration page
Sign in with your admin account and open the membership, event, club, store or application page your members use. The admin transaction starts there, not in the Admin Dashboard menus.
-
Start the admin transaction
Select Start Admin Transaction in the Process an admin transaction panel. For a standalone store, skip this step: add the items to your cart first and pick the account in step 5.
-
Choose the person
In Who do you want to register?, select Register Someone Else and search by name or email for the person’s existing profile. If they truly have no profile, create one with their correct email address.
-
Complete the process with them
Fill in the registration or application as usual and continue to the cart. Ask the person for every survey answer. At each waiver, if they’re with you, let them read and agree on your screen. If they aren’t, answer No when asked whether you are that person, and enter their email address so the waiver is emailed to them.
-
Pick the paying account
Under Admin Transaction Check Out, select the user account that pays and should get the receipt. For a child, that’s usually a parent’s account. Use the search icon to find a different account. The order is recorded against this account, and a validated order can’t be changed later.
-
Pay and submit
To pay online, enter the card details. To record an offline payment, tick Record as offline payment?, choose Terminal / POS, Cheque / Cash or EFT, add payment notes, and tick Send receipt email to user if they should get one. Select Submit & Complete. The person receives their confirmation email.
Selling a membership in person
When someone buys a membership from you at an event or over the phone, follow the same steps and record the payment offline as Cheque / Cash or Terminal / POS. No paper waiver is needed: the person agrees on your screen or signs from the emailed link.
Offline payments are not standard. Uplifter activates them for your platform and your organization, and every item in the cart must go to one organization. See Record offline payments.
Some memberships are issued as soon as the purchase is complete. Others wait for approval by your association’s administrators; see Approve an association membership. Uplifter isn’t involved in approving memberships.
Adding someone from their profile instead
An admin can also add a person straight from their profile. That route takes no payment and skips the survey questions, waivers, membership check and confirmation email, so it’s for category changes and special cases only. See Change a registration category or register someone directly as an admin.
If the person doesn’t appear in the search, your admin account may not have permission on their profile. Contact Uplifter Support with your site name, the person’s name and email, and your organization’s name.
