Run through your own registration before you open it: protect it with a passphrase, register test profiles from your own account, then clear the cart so nothing is saved. If the event is already submitted or live, move the registration open date into the past while you test.
- Protect the event with a passphrase while you test. You don’t need to hide the listing: Listing Visible can be on at any time, because nobody gets past the passphrase.
- Before you submit the event for review, you can set its real registration dates and still test.
- After you submit the event for review or it goes live, registration dates in the future block everyone, even an admin with the passphrase. To test then, turn on the passphrase and move the registration open date into the past.
- Test with profiles under your own account, not with real members. Give them different dates of birth, genders and association memberships to check each category and rule.
- Clear the cart at the end. Clearing it removes the test registrations, so nothing is paid or saved.
- Test again after any change to categories, prices, forms, agreements or rules.
Run through your own registration before you open it, the way a member would, to catch a wrong price, a missing question or a rule that blocks the wrong people. A passphrase keeps everyone else out while you test.

Turn on the passphrase
In the Event Dashboard, select Configuration → Configuration Overview. Under Passphrase, turn on Passphrase Enabled, enter a passphrase and select Save.

Check the registration open date
If the event is already submitted for review or live and registration opens in the future, move the registration open date in Date & Location to a date in the past and select Save. Note the real date so you can set it back.

Open the registration page
Select View Registration and enter your passphrase.

Create test profiles
Select Register Someone Else and add test profiles under your own account. Vary their dates of birth, genders and active association memberships so each category and registration rule gets tested.

Run through registration
For each test profile, choose a category, answer the questions and sign the agreements, as a member would. Check that each profile sees only the categories it should, and at the right price.

Check the cart
In the cart, check the prices, fees and taxes. Don’t pay.

Clear the cart
Select CLEAR in the cart. This deletes the test registrations.
When you’re ready to go live

Set the real registration dates
If you moved the registration open date, set it back to the real date.

Remove the passphrase
Turn off Passphrase Enabled and select Save, unless you want invite-only registration.

Submit for review
If you haven’t yet, submit the event for review. See Submit your Event Dashboard for review and go live.
If a registration rule blocks a test profile it shouldn’t, check that every membership that qualifies is listed in Registration Rules.
