Add a membership or licence by hand to a person's profile when they bought it offline or are already entitled to it, then complete its details, issue it and arrange any waiver.
- Use this only when the person has already paid or is entitled to the membership. No payment is taken. To sell a membership for someone, with payment, use an admin transaction instead; see Register someone on their behalf with an admin transaction.
- A membership added by hand skips the member’s registration process. No survey questions are asked, no waiver is presented and membership requirements aren’t checked.
- No waiver signature request is created. If the member must sign a waiver, contact Uplifter Support: Uplifter can create the request and email the member a signing link. Until it’s signed, the membership stays in Pending Requirements.
- Search before you create anything. Add the membership to the person’s existing account, so they don’t end up with a duplicate profile.
Manually add a membership or licence to a person’s profile when they bought it offline or are already entitled to it, then complete it so it can be issued.
-
Find the person
On the Admin Dashboard, select Users → Profiles and search by first name, last name or email address. Open their profile. Only if they have no account, create one with the person’s own email address.
-
Create the membership
In the profile’s memberships section, create a membership in your organization. Its Membership Details page opens. The new membership is blank.
-
Fill in the member’s details
Add the member’s address and, where your organization uses them, citizenship, a shipping address and a photo. Complete these before you send a membership card.
-
Add the membership type
In the Purchase Group section, use the Add a new group drop-down to choose the membership or licence the person paid for or is entitled to, and add it. It stays incomplete until you finish the next step.
-
Complete the purchase group
Select Edit on the new group. Choose its sub-categories from the drop-downs or checkboxes, add the affiliated club or team if there is one, and set Valid From and Valid To if they apply. Select Save. The group shows Complete.
-
Check the status and number
Refresh the page. Under Membership Info, the membership is Issued, or Processing if your organization approves memberships first. An existing member number fills in by itself; if there isn’t one, select Edit, then Generate Number, and save.
-
Answer extra questions
If the membership type has extra questions, they appear at the bottom of the page. Answering them is optional.
Waivers and the confirmation email
- Waiver: a membership added by hand never sends a waiver on its own, and you can’t create the signature request yourself. Contact Uplifter Support with the member’s name and membership. Once Uplifter creates the request, the member gets an email with a link to sign it, and you can resend that email later from Membership Details.
- Confirmation email: on Membership Details, select Resend Purchase Confirmation Email, or Resend Issued Membership Email if your organization uses that email, so the member has the membership in writing and any card your organization issues.
To change the membership later, see Change a member’s membership type.
