Change one member’s association membership status from Membership Details, and switch memberships mid-season without muddying reports.
- The status under Membership Info is the master switch. It decides whether the membership counts.
- Setting Issued sends your issued membership email, if your organization uses one. Other statuses send no email.
- Cancelled takes the membership out of reports but doesn’t refund anyone.
Change one member’s association membership status from its Membership Details page, for example to approve, hold or cancel it.
-
Find the membership
Search for the member in the search bar at the top. To look up a member number, choose Member Number under Search by. You can also open your membership organization under Memberships, or the person’s profile under Users and then their memberships.
-
Open Membership Details
Open the membership to reach its Membership Details page.
-
Change the status
In Membership Info, select Edit, choose the new Status and select Save.
Switching memberships mid-season
When a member moves to another membership partway through the season, from recreational to competitive for example, the change runs through Purchased Groups:
-
The member registers
They buy the new membership through your usual registration. Their membership moves to Processing and waits for your approval.
-
Set the dates
Under Purchased Groups, select Edit on the old and the new membership and set their valid dates, so one ends where the other starts.
-
Cancel the old one
Edit the former membership under Purchased Groups and set it to Cancelled. This keeps your report exports clean.
-
Approve the member
In Membership Info, select Edit, set the Status back to Issued and select Save.
To change many memberships at once, see Mass update membership statuses. To send money back after cancelling, see Issue a refund.
