Remove an unpaid association membership from a member's cart by deleting it from its Membership Details page. Only memberships that are still Incomplete can be deleted.
Applies to Enterprise
- Incomplete means unpaid. The membership is in the member’s cart and checkout isn’t finished. Nothing has been charged.
- Only an Incomplete membership can be deleted. A membership in Pending Requirements (bought, waiver not signed) or Processing (paid and signed, waiting for your approval) is already paid, so don’t delete it.
- To remove a paid membership, cancel it instead. Set its status to Cancelled, then refund the order separately if money should go back. Cancelling doesn’t refund anyone.
- The member can start again. Deleting clears that membership from their cart, so they can register again with the right choices.
As an admin, delete an incomplete association membership to clear an unpaid membership from a member’s cart.
-
Find incomplete memberships
On the Admin Dashboard, select Memberships → Individual Memberships. Filter the list on the Incomplete status. To go straight to one person, search for them in the search bar at the top instead.
-
Open the membership
Find the member and open the membership you want to remove. Its Membership Details page opens.
-
Check the status
Make sure the membership is Incomplete. If it shows any other status, it’s been paid: change its status instead, as described below.
-
Delete it
Scroll down to Purchased Groups and select Delete Incomplete Membership. The membership comes out of the member’s cart.
When the membership is already paid
Open the membership’s Membership Details, select Edit in Membership Info, set the status to Cancelled and select Save. A cancelled membership drops out of your membership reports. To send money back, refund the order; see Issue a refund.
